Mutant Detail

Mutant Detail:
Mutant SymbolTR74
Allele SymbolTR74
Gene and Mutation LocationMtsym14
Symbiotic Phenotype BriefNod+-Fix-Myc+
Phenotype DetailTR74 was classified as mycorrhizal phenotype 1. Phenotype 1 was similar to the wild type J5. All mutants expressing this phenotype were called Myc+. They form late nodules and are therefore classified as Nod+-, but the few nodules produced are not able to fix nitrogen. On TR74, nodule development is blocked at an early stage: beginning of nodule emergence on roots. At this stage, nodules show differentiation of the peripheral tissue containing the initiation of vascular bundles.
