Phenotype Detail	In a nodulation time course, there was a statistically significant threefold reduction in the number of nodules with the EFD:VP16 construct compared with roots expressing the VP16 domain alone, accompanied by a 3.5-fold reduction in the number of infection threads in roots. A detailed examination of infections showed that the ratio of epidermal versus cortical infection threads was similar in wild-type and EFD-overexpressing roots.
